Our 'Cars and Bikes with Character' meetings continue to be a big draw
Our 1st Sunday Cars and Bikes with Character meetings at the Village Hall continue to be popular with local car enthusiasts and appear to have become part of the regular 'scene' with anything from 50 - 75 interesting vehicles of all shapes and sizes in attendance. Our simple 'no - snobbery' approach is proving popular with both owners and spectators - where else can you see £1m historic sports cars alongside rusty mopeds and shiny tractors?
Many shows set a limit of at least 25 years old on attending cars, but we welcome vehicles from all eras with our current span of 1902 to 2016 nicely vindicating that decision. Neither do we insist on only showroom condition vehicles, if your car is a bit er,.... 'lived - in' , that's fine, bring it along. (After all it's classed as 'patina' in the antiques trade!) Above all else, our bacon rolls are becoming legendary, with some owners dropping in for breakfast before moving on to other events, and that's fine. It's obvious that many new friendships are being made too. Remember though, it's not just for owners, anybody is welcome. Just £5 gets you in, buys you breakfast (bacon or cheese roll, tea or coffee) AND provides a badly needed donation to St Denys' Church Restoration Fund. Here are a few of the lovely vehicles that have attended so far, if you like what you see, why not join us on the first Sunday of each month? We look forward to seeing you.
